Kristi Scott, AHC, CFDAI

Kristi is an Owner and Managing Partner of Hinged Solutions Inc.  She has earned her Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC) designation as well as her Certified Fire + Egress Door Assembly Inspector (CFDAI) designation. She studied business at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Communication and Leadership Program. Over the past 25 years, Kristi has worked across Canada but focused in the Okanagan Valley and BC Markets.  She has held positions in Procurement, Project Management, Branch Management, General Management and served as a Chief Operating Officer. 

Kristi’s passion for the industry and the love of the challenges this industry brings keeps her fresh and engaged. Whether it is new products, people, manufacturer or education, there is always something to learn. She feels that the ability to adapt to this industry’s ever-changing environment and the courage to go after new challenges is one of her greatest strengths.

She brings a very youthful energy and unlimited enthusiasm to everything she does.  She has stayed true to her beliefs that with honesty, integrity, dedication and attention to detail, she  will continue to maintain her commitment to excellence in all areas of accountability.

Kristi continues to give back to the industry by volunteering her time and training future generations.  She is an instructor for DHI Canada and teaches every year.  Most recently she was awarded the Frank J. Verge Excellence in Education Award in recognition of her dedication to the success of DHI Canada’s Education Program.  Kristi has been a long time committed supporter of DHI Canada.  She has been a member of the Education Council, she chaired the extremely successful 2022 Canada Conference, she currently serves on the DHI Canada Board of Directors and holds the position of Co-Education Chair.  Kristi is often called up when DHI Canada is faced with a challenging task, and she never fails to answer the call.

Kristi took up downhill mountain biking at the age of 44 with her two teenage boys and she hopes to enter her first race this year.  She enjoys every moment of riding and being outdoors with her kids.
