In memory of Evan Kwong

Dec 4, 2020 | General News

It is with heartbreaking sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Evan Kwong on Thursday, November 26th, 2020, after three years of battling Head and Neck Cancer at the age of 56 years.

Evan was born on November 17th, 1964, in Calgary, Alberta. He attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and graduated with a Diploma in Technology specializing in Architectural Technology & Building Development. With that he worked as an Architectural Hardware Consultant with Shanahan’s Building Specialties, Ingersoll Rand and Allegion Canada. Having been part of the industry since 1985, he was well respected and admired by his peers.

Having played sports all his life, his favorites were golf and hockey. He loved the time he put into his men’s team, as well as coaching on his daughters’ teams in Simons Valley Hockey Association & Girls Hockey Calgary. Coaching came naturally to him as he was able to connect with the kids at their level. He was just another kid at heart.

A devoted father and husband, he is lovingly remembered by his wife, Pey, and their daughters: Amanda, Michelle and Deanna. He is survived by his father & mother Wah Tung Kwong and Ling Man Kwong, as well as his sister Carol Kwong (Marty Hennel) and Nada Kwong (Ian Brown) and nephews Nigel Brown and Andrew Brown.

A private service will be held for the family to say their final farewell. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation at www.albertacancer.ca/donate.
