Specification Writer
As a member of the Sales organization, the Specification Writer will provide professional specification services for construction projects. Duties will also include review of shop drawings of distributor submittals, and ruling on equivalent product comparisons.
What you will do:
- Write hardware groups and technical specifications for the architectural community, including code compliance for new and existing construction projects.
- Provide solutions to architects on projects and product application requirements.
- Assist sales organization with competition product conversions.
- Attend training sessions to achieve industry-leading knowledge in both mechanical and electronic security solutions.
- Manage the sales process through effective CRM management and team communication.
- Maintain awareness of all Allegion policies, guidelines and procedures and ensure compliance
What you will need:
- Advances Diploma, Architectural Technology or Construction Technology is preferred, Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC) designation or relevant years of experience
- Previous experience with the architectural community is an asset
- Must possess and maintain a valid driving license in province of residence
- Ability to travel 5-10% required
- Strong CRM management and computer skills
- Ability to learn new software tools
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence at all levels across the Company
- Sustain and create strong customer relationships built on respect and trust
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative
- Local understanding of codes and the CSI format of specifications
