Hardware Detailer
Total Opening Consultants provides professional hardware consulting and specification writing services to architects and building owners. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Hardware Detailer.
Hardware Detailers work with architects and end-users to develop projects, write hardware schedules and provide expert advice on all door and hardware related items.
This is a remote work opportunity, where the successful candidate would work from their own office and could be located anywhere in the world. If you are an independent consultant who is looking to be part of a larger team, this position could be right for you.
Responsibilities:
- Assist architects and end users with product selection
- Write hardware schedules and specifications using our proprietary software
- Provide detailed budgets and identify potential cost savings
- Coordinate architectural, electrical and security scope
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and proposals
- Adhere to Total Opening Consultants’ standards at all times
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience writing hardware schedules and specifications (AHC accreditation is preferred, but not mandatory)
- Solid understanding of building codes, access control, accessibility guidelines, and electronic hardware
- Professional, helpful attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Reliable high-speed internet access and ability two work effectively with minimal oversight
