Architectural Technician

Canaropa, a national door hardware wholesale distributor for over 60 years, currently has an opportunity available for an Architectural Technician in our Montreal location.
Position Summary
The role of the Architectural Technician is to write Door Hardware Specifications consisting of Opening Groups and resulting Door Hardware Lists. The candidate must start from an Architect’s Door Schedule Plans. Subsequently, the candidate must be familiar and capable to “suggest” conversion door hardware alternate options to supply the sales department customer’s inquiries. The candidate must have technical and mechanical acuity to work with new product development features along with knowledge conformity to industry standards for: “grade”, “fire” and “safety” criteria.
Competencies
Architectural Technicians are expected to have an expert level knowledge of products and trends in the door hardware market.
Product knowledge across many manufacturers is strong job attribute.
Familiarity with technical drawings, the MS Office suite, the Adobe suite, and proficiency with Excel is required.
Proficiency with Revit and BIM is a definite good to have.
A DHI designation of: AHT or AHC is a definite good to have as well as having completed courses towards those designations
1 to 3 years experience in a similar position is required
